Long live the blood.

You rule a young kingdom in Aetheria, and your crown passes by blood. Conquer land and build on it, marry for alliances, raise heirs, and hold the throne for as many generations as you can. If your family line ends, the game ends with it.

A spin-off of Aetheria: The Ashen Crown, set in the same world, with the same peoples and the same magic.

What you do

  • Keep the line alive. Rulers age, fall ill and die. Marry, have children and name an heir. Children inherit their parents' ancestry, and the royal blood thins or stays strong depending on who you marry.
  • Wake the old blood. There are 26 bloodlines. Each rises through five stages, from Dormant to Apex, and brings its own powers.
  • Build your land. Settlements grow from Wilds to Hamlet, Village, Town and City, and you name every town. There are 24 buildings, and each works better or worse depending on the land: a Farm thrives on plains, a Lumber Camp struggles in the desert.
  • Raise armies. There are 14 kinds of soldiers, from Spearmen to Griffins, and many come from the peoples living in your provinces. Name your armies, merge and split them, give them generals, and keep them supplied. The further they march from home, the more they cost.
  • Wage war on a hex map. March orders that span seasons, flanking, digging in, sieges, garrisons, fog of war and watchtowers. Build ports and fleets to fight at sea and to land armies on other shores.
  • Rule. Keep four factions happy, set the laws, put down revolts and make hard choices when events strike.
  • Deal with other kingdoms.
    • Send gifts, arrange marriages, and sign trade deals, peace pacts and alliances.
    • Call your allies to arms.
    • Demand gold or land, forge claims and take prisoners.
    • Talk peace on terms that depend on how the war is going.
  • Study magic. Thirteen schools and 57 spells: the four elements, the pairings between them, and Healing, Holy and Curse.
  • Hire leaders. Generals and governors have skills, perks, levels and loyalty. Every person in the game has a full character sheet.

The peoples of Aetheria

Humans, Elves, Dwarves, Orcs, Halflings, Draconids, Infernals and Beastkin. Each brings its own gift to your realm and its own warriors to your armies.

How to play

  • Click a province to see it. Click your banner to select an army.
  • Press Move, pick a hex, then Confirm.
  • Space ends the season. Esc or right-click cancels. Keys 1–8 switch tabs.
  • Hover over anything, or press and hold on a phone, to see what it does. A goal tracker guides your first steps.
  • Your world saves every season, and you can keep several worlds going at once.

Notes

  • Plays in your browser on desktop and mobile. Best in fullscreen.
  • Saves live in your browser, so clearing your browsing data deletes them.
